EBBE: Expand Business Beyond Expectations

Tech Corner

20c4

Back in 1983, the Tandy 2000/ TRS-80 was the hottest new “computer” from Radio Shack (Tandy Corp).  Some of our members are old enough to have used one in their work life and others have no clue as to what this device was all about.

As part of a new EBBE initiative this year called “That’s So 20th Century- Here’s a New Way To Do It,  group members will be sharing new “21st Century” ways  of conducting business during a weekly 5-10 minute session called Tech Corner.   Participating members will be ask to post comments on the Front Page to document the new idea.  The Tech Corner section below will be used to  index the postings for easier retrieval.  Simply click on the link to view the full posting.

Nyles Courchesne of Peskin, Courchesne, & Allen, P.C. mentioned that he discovered a website- http://www.lifehacker.com that he finds to be quite interesting because it identifies the “latest and greatest” web based ideas (“Tips and Ideas for Getting Things Done”)

Larry Krainson of Computer Care suggested that members consider the use of an organizer to keep track of ISP info as well as passwords, etc. to make it easier for resources like himself to provide assistance.  A recent client had problems with his business computer but could not locate key information regarding his Internet webhosting which delayed resolution of a problem.  He recommended an organizer- “a little black book of passwords” from Amazon/ Innovention Labs http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/0615164706

Michael McGill of ProGreenPainting suggested that group member consider the use of “Angie’s List” which provides low cost means for obtaining business referrals.

Bill Gilligan of YourPersonalCarShopper suggested that members evaluate the use of a special service- SendOutCards.com) that will design, create and mail cards to business clients for all purposes (thank you, etc…) .  As little as one card priced at ~ $2 can be sent.
